Butter Dream Cookies
 

 Butter Dream Cookies

 

If you're a butter cookie fan, these are worth a try. They have that delicious taste of butter with a hint of almond flavor. They make a great Christmas cookie with red and green maraschino cherries.
 

½ cup 

 

butter

 

½ cup 

 

shortening

 

½ cup 

 

sugar

 

1 tsp 

 

almond extract

 

2 ¼ cups 

 

flour

 

 

 

maraschino cherries

Cream butter, shortening, and sugar well. Blend in flavoring and flour. Shape into balls. Place ½ of a maraschino cherry in the center of each cookie.

Bake at 350 degrees for 8-10 minutes.
 

Yield: 24-30 cookies
